Randall Elementary School and the Josephine Guerrero Family Resource Center on May 22 honored Milpitas families who completed the Raising a Reader program. The Raising a Reader program gives families the tools to cultivate a habit of reading together with their children to enhance the children's literacy skills and instill in them a passion for reading. The program is also designed to help children excel in school, work and society. As their names were read out in Randall's gymnasium, each kindergartener who had completed the program marched to the podium.
